Time to get out your red carpet finest. Hammer & Saw Films has announced the premier of 100 Head/Heart/Feet, their new feature-length documentary that follows Zak Wieluns in his quest to complete the Vermont 100. The film tells the story of the middle and back of the pack ultramarathon runners, those who are on the course for 20 or 30 (or more hours) and the camaraderie forged between the runners, crews, and volunteers during their time on the course.
Last year, we spoke to Wieluns and filmmakers Mike Mooney and Will Peters before the race. Read more here. And, if you were at the Vermont 100, it was hard to miss the film crew (they had a drone!). After months in the editing room, the film will be ready for the premier screening on May 3 in New London, N.H. Here are the dates that have been announced so far:
May 3, 2014, at the Windcrossing Festival in New London, N.H., at Colby-Sawyer College. Details, including time and location, should be available soon.
June 13, 2014, at the Frontier Theater in Brunswick, Maine. Details and tickets will be available here.
June 19, 2014, the film will show as part of the “Maine Micro Cinema” at Guthries in Lewiston, Maine. Details will be available here.
Additional screenings and details about these screenings should be available in the coming months. If you are interested in organizing a screening at a local independent theater, you can contact the project director (firstname.lastname@example.org). You can also find details about the project on its website (which also has links to all social media outlets).
